A Householder is someone who:
- Is willing to open their home to someone who has been carefully matched with them and who they have met and agreed to take part in a Homeshare with, in the knowledge that if things do not work out they can give one month’s notice to that person to leave
- Is willing to share living space (eg kitchen, living room, bathroom) with another person
- Wants to help people who struggle to afford to live in London
- Is happy to live with someone of a different generation
- Will respect someone else’s personal space and possessions
- Appreciates companionship and knowing that there will be someone in the house at night
- Would like to have someone to help out around the home, and whilst they will not be out of pocket, they will also not be making money by becoming a member of River House Homeshare
- Appreciates a neat, clean and tidy home
- Is willing to keep to living arrangments as discussed and agreed
- Is willing to discuss, compromise and work through problems to find solutions
- Can be trusted to respect and keep confidential another person’s information
A Homesharer is someone who:
- Is willing to offer around 10 hours of their time each week to provide help around the home
- Is willing to share living space (e.g. kitchen, living room, bathroom) with another person
- Will respect someone else’s personal space and possessions
- Is happy to live with someone of a different generation
- Can be trusted to handle a vulnerable person’s money (e.g. if shopping for the Householder)
- Is punctual and will make payments on time without needing to be reminded
- Is able to be neat, clean and tidy
- Is willing to keep to living arrangements as discussed and agreed
- Can be trusted to respect and keep confidential another person’s personal information
- Appreciates companionship and is friendly, kind and compassionate with good communication skills
- Is willing to discuss, compromise and work through problems to find solutions
